Downtown

Downtown is Atlanta’s central business district. The largest of the city's three commercial districts, Downtown is the location of many corporate or regional headquarters (Coca-Cola, Suntrust, and CNN); city, county, state and federal government facilities(GA State Capitol); Georgia State University; sporting venues(Turner Field and Georgia Dome); and most of Atlanta's tourist attractions (Centennnial Park, College Football Hall of Fame). Like other central business districts in the U.S., Downtown has recently undergone a transformation that included the construction of new condos and lofts, the introduction of street cars, and the renovation of historic buildings. As a result, Downtown has seen the arrival of many new residents and businesses helping to breathe new life into an already lively area of the city.
