Midtown
Midtown is the second largest business district in the city of Atlanta, and is conveniently situated between districts of Downtown to the south and Buckhead to the north. Day and night, there are many things to do in Midtown Atlanta- enjoying outdoor recreation, shopping, and art galleries; catch award-winning performances and top entertainers; or, enjoying some of the best dining experiences Atlanta has to offer at higher-end establishments such as Bacchanalia, Miller Union, or for an authenic Southern meal at the more laid back Mary Mac’s Tea Room.
Midtown is recognized for its cultural attractions, institutions of higher education, noteworthy architecture, and urban layout. This area is the heart of the city's arts scene including the Ferst Center for the Arts, Fox Theatre, Woodruff Arts Center, the High Museum of Art, the Museum of Design Atlanta, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Center for Puppetry Arts, and the 14th Street Playhouse. Midtown is also home to three well known institutions of higher education: Georgia Institute of Technology, John Marshall Law School, and the Atlanta division of the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). As you’d imagine, Midtown is a busteling bunsiness district containting about one-third of the city's high-rises and some of Atlanta's most iconic buildings, such as the Bank of America Plaza, AT&T Midtown Center, One Coca-Cola Plaza, Atlantic Center, and 1180 Peachtree.
Not only does Midtown have 150+ restaurants, world class arts and attractions, shopping, and events, but it’s also home to one of the most popular parks in Atlanta, Piedmont Park. Piedmont Park is constantly filled with people relaxing, walking, jogging, playing frisbee, visiting the Botanical Gardens in the NW corner of the park, but it also is host to numerous festivals and live concerts throughout the year. Though busy, this beautiful park allows one to forget they’re right in the middle of a large metropolitan city.
