SW Atlanta

Southwest Atlanta, also known as the West End, is an up and coming area located in one of the most convenient areas of Atlanta. Southwest Atlanta is primarily made up of 1950’s and 1960’s bungelows in varying conditions; however, this is where you’ll find one of the “best bangs for the buck” if you’re looking for more affordable housing in the city with mass transit options allowing you to access most parts of the city.

Recently, the city invested more than $2 million into improving sidewalks, trees, streetlights, and other area improvements, and a vacant Sears parking lot was converted into a swanky condominium complex. However, West End’s ascent is still in its early stages, marking this as a top community for city dwellers looking for affordable housing. Perhaps that’s one reason why, in 2010, Creative Loafing magazine named West End the “Best Neighborhood for Artists.” And, with the Atlanta Beltline project coming right through the heart of this area, Atlantans should certainly expect to significant changes in this area over the next few years.
